Only a person with limited options would marry someone that they didn't actually know, or was willing to look past that person's character disturbances. They would have various personality disorders as well. #CASA

QUINCY -- A Quincy man was arrested Monday after an investigation by the West Central Illinois Task Force. Michael H. Curtis, 62, was arrested at his residence at 1925 Sherwood Lake Estates in Quincy after officers with the task force and the Illinois State Police executed a search warrant at the residence, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Patrick Frazier said. Frazier said court records indicate Curtis was placed on probation in 2015 for a meth possession charge in Missouri. Curtis made his first appearance in Adams County Circuit Court on Tuesday. He officially was charged with two felonies -- unlawful possession of meth and unlawful possession of weapon by a felon. He also was charged with a misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia charge. According to court documents, Curtis possessed less than five grams of meth. Police allege he also possessed a .38-caliber Bersa S.A. pistol and also was in possession of a glass smoking pipe and digital scale. If convicted of the felony charges, Curtis faces between 2 and 10 years in prison, while the misdemeanor charge brings with it a possible punishment of up to 364 days in jail. Judge Mark Drummond set Curtis' bond at $50,000 and set his next court date for March 22 for a first appearance with counsel. Curtis was held overnight Monday in the Adams County Jail and was freed Tuesday after posting $5,000 bail.
